A host of top clubs including Spurs have been put on red alert after Wesley Sneijder's agent today told reporters the Dutch ace "will not sign" the contract offer offered to him by Inter Milan.

Sneijder and his agent Soren Lerby held talks with Inter officials this afternoon where it is believed the 28-year-old was offered a reduction on his current deal.

It seems that deal was rejected by the midfielder as his agent told reporters after the meeting: "In these circumstances he will not sign."

Sneijder himself was coy on the outcome of the talks saying: "I don't really have the desire to speak. Something will be released later this afternoon. I've always been happy at Inter."

Tottenham, Manchester United and PSG are thought to have been monitoring today's events with a view to a January move if talks broke down.
