West Ham United have been linked with a move for out of favour Aston Villa striker Darren Bent in the transfer window.

Bent has fallen down the pecking order at Villa Park and did not even feature in the squad during Tuesday's win over Reading.

It seems highly likely that the former Spurs striker will leave Villa in January after failing to impress new manager Paul Lambert.

How do Gold & The Gang manage it? Allegedly 100 million in debt, desperate to flog their established home and yet still allow Big Sam to sniff around in the market for a top striker like Darren Bent. Compare this farcical situation to the brilliant Russell Slade at neighbours Leyton Orient. The great man constantly brings in free transfer and youth players to the team, and now sees his team buzzing on a five-straight-wins run.Keep it up O's and let's hope Sunday's FA Cup draw throws us up 42 v 52 (Big Sam v Big Russ).
