Alex Inglethorpe has left Tottenham Hotspur to join Premiership rivals Liverpool to take over as their reserve team coach.

The former Watford and Leyton Orient player's arrival at Anfield has been welcomed by boss Brendan Rodgers, who spoke to liverpoolfc.com about the appointment of the former Spurs youth coach.

Rodgers said: “I'm delighted that Alex has decided to join us in our journey to create a philosophy that runs directly through the club. He has many years of experience in youth football and also managed at senior level. His unswerving belief and commitment to our way of working will bring continued success in this role.”

Liverpool’s academy director Frank McParland added: “Alex also has great experience from working with the U18s at Spurs for many years, where he has helped to produce some fantastic players.

"I'm sure he is going to help us push on at academy level. It's a fantastic appointment and I'm looking forward to working with him over the coming years."
