Leyton Orient boss admits Preston win was a real battle
Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade admitted it was a real battle at Brisbane Road after they earned a 2-0 win over Preston.
Goals from Mathieu Baudry and Kevin Lisbie gave the O's a fifth win in a row but they had to work hard for the points as they ended Preston's seven-match unbeaten run.
Slade said: "It was a real battle, wasn't it right, until the death. We claimed all the spoils today which was the most important thing.
"I think they dug deep the entire game because it was always going to be a battle of a different nature with the conditions today. It gave it an extra messy feel but sometimes you can get a real battle that goes on and on and on.
"They had their 15 minutes [towards the end] where they really came at us and Ryan Allsop's made two fantastic saves. They were a bit unfortunate with a header which hit the post and came back out but we kept defending and putting our bodies on the line.
"We were always a threat even on the counter-attack in the second half and we had the benefit of a two-goal cushion."
