Valley quartet in running for prize

Zheng Zhi (above) is in the running for the player of the season award

CHARLTON'S player of the season will be announced at The Valley on Sunday night.

Matt Holland, Paddy McCarthy, Zheng Zhi and Nicky Weaver are expected to contest the main supporters' club prize and the club's management team will also nominate a young player of the year.

Fans can also visit cafc.co.uk to vote in the official website's goal of the season competition.

NEWS on Charlton's season-ticket pricing structure for next season, which increasingly looks like being in the Championship, is set to be announced by the club in the coming weeks.

The Addicks have been delaying making an announcement while the club chased a place in the play-offs.

THE dislocated toe Sam Sodje suffered against Plymouth Argyle on April 5 is expected to rule out the on-loan Reading defender for the rest of the season.

Neither Svetoslav Todorov nor Chris Dickson, who both have both knee injuries, are expected to be fit for the final three games, while Izale McLeod had a successful operation on his knee at the start of the month.

ALTHOUGH eligible for Saturday's match against Queens Park Rangers, Yassin Moutaouakil will miss the final two games of the season due to suspension after being sent off for violent conduct for the reserves on April 7.

Moutaouakil will also miss the first match of next season, or the first leg of the play-offs semi-finals should the Addicks climb back into the top six.

The table-topping second XI lost 1-0 to Wycombe Wanderers last week and started the week just two points ahead of second-placed Southampton, who have two games in hand.

Charlton reserves play their final match of the campaign against Leyton Orient at Stonebridge Road next Monday (7pm).

TICKETS for Charlton's final home game of the season against Coventry City on May 4 (2pm) are currently on general sale priced £20 for adults, £15 for over-60s and under-21s and £10 for under-18s.

Seats are also on general sale for Saturday's trip to Queens Park Rangers (3pm) priced £22 for adults, £13 for over-60s and under-21s and £8 for under-16s.

Under-eights gain free admission to Loftus Road, but they must be accompanied by an adult.

Meanwhile, tickets for the trip to Barnsley on April 26 are also on sale.

These are priced £20 for adults and £12 for over-60s and under-18s.

Under-11s places cost £6, but children must be accompanied by an adult.

For more information, visit cafc.co.uk or call 0871 226 1905.

MIKKEL Rygaard-Jensen scored for the second time in eight days as Charlton's under-18s drew 1-1 with Reading at Sparrows Lane last Saturday.

The under-18s are back at the training ground on Saturday (11am) to play their final match of the season against Millwall.

ASSISTANT Addicks manager Phil Parkinson will answer fans' questions at the next meeting of the north west Kent branch of the supporters' club on April 24 (8pm).

The event takes place at Bexley Park Sports & Social Club.

All CASC members are welcome and non-members can join on the night with membership valid until the end of 2008/09.

THE Valley's latest musical event takes place on Friday with a George Michael/Wham tribute night in the north stand.

Tickets for the event on Friday are priced £19.95, which includes a hot buffet.

For more details, or to book, email sales@cafc.co.uk or call 020 8333 4040.

IT MAY have been a bad day for the Addicks on Saturday, but it was a good day for Charlton-supporting Brians as Brian Johnson (2166), from Bromley, and Brian McKeown (2690), from Slade Green, won £350 and £150 respectively in the Valley Gold draw.

Frank Galloghly (3796), from Eltham, won the £1,297 Jackpot Tickets first prize, but £100 has yet to be claimed.

Whoever has number 0602 should call 020 8244 7771 to claim their prize.
