Surely the first job - is to reassure fans by stating exactly what has been bought - Is it the club, the ground, the pub, what are the debts, etc. We do not need to know the price paid, but the family will earn lots of respect by publishing an operating account for the last 15 months. Let us know what the real income was from ticket sales, Saracens, transfers, how much cash is in the bank, what debts are due, etc. What were the real costs in terms of recent investment in the ground, pitch, transfers, players wages, admin costs, payments to Baz. They have nothing to lose by showing the fans what was really spent and what the gap is compared to revenue. It would dispel the rumours and allow fans to understand their future decisions on player recruitment, investment in the ground and the future of the academy. None of this is the sexy exciting stuff like the football management and playing squad they plan for next season and beyond. But explaining the recent past will help set the scene for the future. I see that they can only gain if the facts show they are either saviours from a looming disaster of canny investors who are building on solid foundations. Either way i would like to know where we are starting from.

Gino Pozzo expected to address Watford staff for the first time today

One of the Hornets' new owners is expected to address club staff for the first time this afternoon, the Watford Observer understands.

Office staff at Vicarage Road had been left in the dark during the club's takeover, which took several weeks to complete.

The Pozzos takeover of Watford was completed in the early hours of Friday and announced that afternoon.

Chief executive Scott Duxbury addressed staff on Friday and Gino Pozzo is expected to this afternoon.

We understand staff will be addressed by Duxbury and Pozzo later this afternoon and the club have just released a statement confirming a staff meeting will be taking place at 2.45pm.

This means the club's office will be shut until 9am tomorrow, although The Hornets Shop and Ticket Office will remain open.
