Manchester United goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak joins Brighton and Hove Albion

Watford target Tomasz Kuszczak has agreed to join Brighton and Hove Albion on a free transfer.

Kuszczak has known for some time that he would be released by Manchester United and joined Watford on loan for the final two months of the season, making 13 appearances.

The Hornets wanted to make the switch permanent but it always seemed unlikely they would be able to compete with other interested clubs when it came to wages.

Kuszczak told Brighton's website: "I have played Premier League football for eight years, with West Bromwich Albion and Manchester United, and I believe the structure is in place here to join them.

"The manager and coaching staff, the team, stadium, crowds, through to the plans for the new training ground, everything is geared up for playing at the highest level and I could sense that ambition to be a top club straight away.

"Also when I played against Brighton last season, while on loan at Watford, I was very impressed with the way the team played - it was totally different to the rest of the Championship and more like what I was used to at Manchester United.

"This team likes to pass the ball, they like to create, they are attractive to watch. The way Brighton play is the future of football. I had other clubs who wanted to sign me but my heart told me that this was the right choice."

Kuszczak has agreed a two-year contract and the move will be completed on July 1.

What a cheek Kuszczak has, gets his career back on track , gets his brothers to mug Bassini off doing up the pub and then joins the shitehawks! Might just regret that when the Italians arrive ?

His wages would have been far beyond what we can currently pay so no shock he has gone elsewhere. I can't imagine we're in for anybody at the moment until the ownership of the club is sorted.

Inevitable..thought he might do a bit better than Brighton though. Need to get the takeover sorted soonest-either to the Italians or the other interested parties Bas keeps talking about. While we are in limbo there will be no signings and it must be difficult for SD planning for next season when he cant be sure he will be a part of it.

Real shame this. Miles better than Loach who I hate. All he's good for is vile tatoos. We need a proper 'keeper for next season.

Hog out

True and that must be a worry as we need new players to come in...

We never had a realistic chance of signing him, his wages would have been way out of our reach. Good luck to him, a privilege to have seen him play for us.

Easy for SD to prepare for next season, he will use what he has but does not make a plan with Adrian Mariappa and Stephen McGinn. If they remain we have a bonus.

Hog spot on we need a new keeper for next year. For any doubters after costing us so many points we replaced Loach and climbed the division.

And for those among us who don't see the relevance of having a decent stadium, ambition should heed His words.
We need this change of ownership, and one more decent stand gives us a decent stadia in what is our spiritual home.

Was it the stadium or the silly salary that attracted him?
At least one of their recruits last summer turned down interest from Premiership clubs to join them.

Possibly both
I remember going to Northamptons old three sided ground and thinking what a joke

Shut up if you think loach is so bad, why don't you go in goal. he was good when he had other keepers pressuring him for a place in the team. so i think you should have a go. it would be interesting to have a luton supporter in the squad.

I played in a cricket match alongside Cliff Holton in 1961
( he arrived in a claret colour car and wearing his claret club blazer) and he was very happy at that awful three sided ground ----for a while.
Obviously you are right Lutondown but I couldnt resist!

Yes, but you weren't assessing them as a potential employer.
The clubs that players have turned down to sign for Brighton have 4 sides and are in a good state. They're clearly paying over the odds.

Cliff, point is. This was the days of the shrodells stand, a Rookery end ( with Luton Town sprayed accross it's back walls) and the posh stand was the old East stand, yet I still looked down my barrel at what was a real sports arena.
The Vic is a proper ground unlike Brighton/ Reading etc but 4 sides would make it very decent.
I think this s more important than what some folks think.
1961? Fair play old chap!

Lloydinio when trying to get your point across it helps not to use words like shut up, which indicates you have no reasoning to disagree academically with his premise. Then stating 'you should play in goal' is making yourself sound foolish, evidently he is not a goalkeeper. Also statistics show that we won more with kuszuzak in goal and just through watching each week you will realise he makes a minimum of two huge mistakes a game , which isn't good enough for a goalkeeper who isn't even young anymore.

If Loach gets his act together he can be a top keeper - before he is loaned out to Udinese.

Loach had a terrible season,He had one decent game & he only played in that because TK couldn't be there.
It's funny how you clappers call people L**on fans when you get it wrong(as per usual)
