John-Joe O’Toole has been ruled out of Sheffield United’s playoff final against Burnley after rupturing his ankle ligaments.
The 20-year-old has made nine appearances for the Blades since signing on loan from Watford in late February and was likely to feature in the final on May 25 until he picked up the injury in training on Friday.
The Watford Academy graduate is expected to remain with Sheffield United though until their fate is sealed and should travel with the squad to Wembley.
