Jonathan Williams will be hoping to follow in Sean Scannell's footsteps after the Crystal Palace youngster was short-listed for the Championship Apprentice of the Year award at the Football League Awards 2012.
The 18-year-old is up against Gael Bigirimana of Coventry City and Jordan Obita of Reading for the trophy which his team-mate Scannell won in 2009.
Williams's emergence into the Eagles' first team season has come after coming through the club's academy, where he has long been heralded as the most exciting prospect for a number of years.
He has become a regular in the Wales U21 squad and was also called up to senior squad this season before breaking his leg in an U21 match in November.
Judges picked the short-list by looking at the playing record of the apprentices, educational attainment, disciplinary record and other achievements.
Other winners include Connor Wickham last season and Adam Matthews in 2010, with this season's winner announced at a gala ceremony at The Brewery in London on March 11.
