He is unbeaten in a Crystal Palace shirt, and James McArthur is sitting squarely in the middle of the field when it comes to why.

The Scottish international, who made his Palace debut in the 0-0 draw against Burnley, has formed a flegding force in the midfield with Joe Ledley and skipper Mile Jedinak - who scored his second goal in two games in Saturday's Premier League win over Leicester City.

McArthur said: “In midfield, it’s key that we just want to work hard for each other. Whenever one makes a mistake the others are there to help out.

“It’s two in two for Mile, the gaffer says to him that he can get forward at times.

“And that’s where the partnership comes in again. If one goes forward, you need the others to sit back, and we can have that rotation between the three of us.”

While boss Neil Warnock also lauded his midfield trio, McArthur also lauded another area of the Eagles attack line.

McArthur said: “If I was a full back I would not want to face our wingers.

“They have pace and power, and are a handful for any defence, and are key to when we play our counter-attacking football.”
