Crystal Palace skipper Mile Jedinak may miss Friday’s vital Championship clash at Watford as he continues to recover from what Ian Holloway called an “horrific” facial injury.
Jedinak fractured his cheekbone and nose after being caught in the face towards the end of the 1-0 defeat at Huddersfield Town last week.
The Australian midfielder missed the weekend win over Charlton Athletic, and was due to have surgery on Monday.
Holloway said: “It was an horrific injury. The force it must have taken to do that is pretty scary.
“He hasn’t lost his sight luckily, but his face isn’t going to be the same because it is indented.
“It will be put back and it will get better. These days surgeons are fantastic because it will almost get fixed immediately.”
He added: “He will hopefully have a face mask by Friday, but he might miss the Watford game. When he got up from the clash, his eye was worse than anything that has happened to any boxer.”
