Crystal Palace skipper Mile Jedinak says the Eagles did not really want an FA Cup replay.

After the third round 0-0 deadlock at Selhurst Park, Palace must travel to Stoke City's Britannia Stadium on January 15 for the right to host Manchester City in the fourth round.

The replay is sandwiched between a Championship trip to Burnley and the visit of Bolton Wanderers, managed by former Palace boss Dougie Freedman.

Jedinak said: "Would we like an extra game? Probably not, but we have got it so we just have to deal with it.

"We are professional players and athletes. We have just got to get on with it, whether the manager decides to go with it or not. We all know we are in it as a group, so it has got to be done."

At the same time, the Australian skipper is confident of beating the Premier League side on the road.

“I don’t see why we can’t go through. We believe it. We have got a bit of confidence around the place," he said.

"We are playing with that confidence at the minute. We know it will be a difficult game because they have a great record at home in the Premier League, so we are not going to kid ourselves but I think we will take a lot of confidence from this game."

Stoke are unbeaten at the Britannia Stadium this season, having claimed the scalps of, among others, Liverpool and Newcastle United in the Premier League.

And Jedinak remained coy about the possibility of facing Stoke next year as Premier League rivals.

He said: "We have to take one game at a time. They are where we want to be and they’ve been there for a number of years. They are a solid Premier League team.

"They have earned their respect and I think we showed them that. They are where they are for a reason and it is good to mix it with them."
