Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway wants to feed off the energy at Selhurst Park by "plugging" himself - like an Energizer bunny.

Ahead of this afternoon's Championship clash with Peterborough, Holloway was on enthusiastic form.

He said: "It is a absolute honour to be here with this exciting squad that has landed in my lap. I feel I need to pinch myself.

"This place has re-energised me, I want to plug myself into the socket and away I go, let’s see what we can do."

Holloway was also full of praise for the fans' support, as well as the set-up behind the scenes.

He said:"The fans have great energy, this is as good it has been for years.

"And some of their mates, who have a lot of money, have bought the club and saved it, not only have they saved the football side of things, they also own the ground. So they are very clever business men in their own right and it is an absolute joy the way they talk to me about their players.

"Everyone knows me, I am a people person, and I cannot wait to get working with these pople.

"I have never been brought out of a contract for that sort of money [believed to be around £450,000] in my whole career, so hopefully I am doing something right.

"I would love to repay their loyalty and their trust in doing something pretty special for them, not just get them a good team but get them where they want to be, get a new ground built and be here long, long time after that."
