CHRIS Powell and Johnnie Jackson are both in the running for the League One monthly honours.
Jackson scored crucial winning free-kicks against promotion rivals Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United in the space of a week, a key factor in his selection for the January player of the month award.
The Addicks skipper is up against Chesterfield keeper Tommy Lee and Huddersfield goal machine Jordan Rhodes for the gong, with the winner set to be confirmed on Friday.
Meanwhile, Powell could be on course for his second manager of the month presentation if he sees off the challenge of Chesterfield’s John Sheridan and Huddersfield’s Lee Clark.
Powell, who won in November and has now been nominated five times this season, inspired his table-topping side to take 13 points from a potential 15 in January as Charlton strengthened their lead at the head of League One.

Whilst it's great to see them get recognised for their achievements, these monthly awards are like a kiss of death and over the seasons have lead to a dip in winning games.
Congrats though all the same!!
