Cricket fans – including Richmond Park MP Zac Goldsmith – young and old rubbed shoulders with Australian Test legend Shane Warne on Ham Common last Friday.
The leg-spinner’s appearance follows hard on the heels of all-time leading Test wicket-taker Muttiah Muralitharan’s visit to Teddington CC, left, last month.
The Test Match Special commentator Henry Blofeld will complete a trio of visits to Richmond borough by cricket royalty next week when he brings his Memories of Test Match Special show to Richmond Theatre on July 22.
“What a hat-trick. I know which one of those three I’d rather bat against and it isn’t Murali or Shane,” said Blofeld on Monday.
