FOUR local girls are preparing for a rowing international against France next month after winning their places in the eight crew last Sunday.

Ellie and Bethany Osborn from Great Marlow and Becca Taylor and Olivia Radcliffe from Sir William Borlase’s have all won their places in the team that will them travel to Gravelines in France in two weeks.

The four have only been racing together for two weeks, but stunned more established crews to earn their GB places with a victory.

Fergus Murison, coach for Great Marlow School Boat Club, said: “I think this is an outstanding achievement.I believe the girls are the first students ever to win GB vests representing Great Marlow School Boat Club.”
