On loan striker Saido Berahino led the way as Brentford hammered Carlisle United 4-0 at Griffin Park on Monday night.
Berahino's double capped another impressive home win as the Bees added to the five goals they put past Wycombe in their last home game.
Brentford's first chance fell to Leon Legge who found himself free inside the box, but headed Jake Bidwell's long ball over the bar.
The Bees took the lead after nearly half an hour when Sam Saunders floated a free kick in from the left and Harlee Dean scored his first league goal with a header from ten yards out.
Shortly after Brentford doubled their lead after Clayton Donaldson was bundled over inside the box and as referee Tony Bates ignored calls for a penalty, Saunders picked up the ball on the right hand side of the box and slotted it under Carlisle keeper Adam Collin.
The Bees extended their lead yet further just before the break when early substitute Berahino - on loan from Premier League side West Brom – capped an impressive move which started with Toumani Diagouraga collecting the ball on the edge of his own box and ended with Berahino calmly controlling Shaleum Logan's cross before burying the ball past Collin.
Jonathan Douglas nearly got in on the action before the half time break, but his shot was saved by Collin.
Simon Moore, a half time replacement for Richard Lee in goal, was called into action early in the second half when he got down low to block a shot from Paddy Madden.
Yet less than ten minutes into the half Berahino wrapped things up when he carried the ball from the half way line and curled the ball over Collin into the top right hand corner.
Berahino almost grabbed a hat trick on a night to remember when Douglas set him up, but he shot across the goal and wide of the right hand post.
