Sutton and Cheam Swimming Club returned from the opening meeting of the Surrey Age Group Championships with seven medals last weekend.
In the long distance events at Surrey Sports Park in Guildford, 16-year-old James De Brunner was the only member to claim a medal as he took silver in the boys’ 16 and over 1,500m freestyle.
Nathan Eves missed out on a podium spot but did claim a big personal best in the boys’ U13 1,500m as he came fifth.
In the shorter distances on Sunday, 11-year-old Michael Rees won two silver medals.
He was second in the U11 400m, despite stopping two lengths early after miscounting, and also in the boys’ 400m individual medley – in which De Brunner also won silver in his age group.
April Hedges, 10, and Athena Lewis Gkogka, 15, won bronze medals in their age groups for the girls’ individual medley.
Hedges also added a bronze in the girls’ 400m freestyle.
A week previously, Hedges took a clean sweep of the girls’ year six titles at the Sutton Primary School Swimming Championships.
Sutton & Cheam swimmers, representing their schools, won 13 of the 14 borough titles and 64 championship medals.
