FIVE Great Marlow School pupils warmed up for the Junior Great Britain rowing trials in a fortnight by honing their groove at a time trial regatta at Hampton Head.
Between them, they returned with a gold and two silvers against some of the best crews around.
Despite temperatures plummetting below zero and ice on the water delaying the start, Emma Boddy, Jack Head, Graham Lyons and Ellie and Bethany Osborn all showed their class.
Head and Lyons teamed up with Vinay Narang and Sam Haynes to take gold in the coxless four, while Ellie and Bethany Osborn took silver against arch rivals Beford Girls School.
The sisters then crewed with Philine Hamelink and Charlotte Money to add another silver in the WJ16 doubles while Boddy's new partnership with Becca Taylor also took a stride forwards.
Elsewhere, the WJ14 eight took fifth and the J15 coxed quad were fourth.
