CHALFONT St Peter’s run of 17 straight league victories was finally stopped in its tracks by Kingsbury London Tigers, who beat them 2-1 on Saturday.
Saints finally ran out of puff despite taking the lead through John Carroll’s first half free kick.
But Saints never looked comfortable and it was no surprise when Mark Oliver fumbled a cross and Kye Hendrix forced the equaliser over the line.
Oliver was also at fault for the Tigers’ 71st minute winner when a mix-up with his defence allowed Hendrix in for his second. Saints battled strongly to try and preserve their 100 per cent record but the Tigers held on to become the first team to take league points from Saints this season.
Now it is all about how Saints react when they travel to second placed Tring tonight.
