Andy Forbes says his Sutton United future is in the hands of parent club Woking - even though he feels the Blue Square South side haven’t given him a fair chance.

The on-loan star, who signed Sutton in October, will be at Gander Green Lane until January and he expects to return to Kingfield when his three-month loan deal expires.

But he says that all depends on whether his goalscoring form with United has earned him a second bite of the cherry with the Cards.

“I don’t think I’ve been given too much of a chance there. I started the season on the bench and when I did get a start I didn’t score and was on the bench again quite quickly,” he said.

“I was sent out on loan to get some goals and I’m pleased with how things have gone at Sutton. I’m enjoying my football again.

“It is difficult to say whether I will stay here. I’m under contract at Woking and if the manager wants me back to fight for my place then I’ll be happy to do that.

“If he doesn’t then it depends on whether Paul wants me. It is all up in the air.”

But if Forbes is surplus to requirements at Kingfield, Doswell is likely to welcome him back to Sutton.

“I was the first one in for him in the summer and I was the first one in for him when it became apparent his spell at Woking wasn’t going well,” he added.

“He was outstanding for me at Eastleigh and that is why I’ve been so keen to get him on board.”
