JUST 18 months after forming, Great Marlow School Boat Club set down a marker with three golds and three silvers at the Marlow Town Regatta.

The school got off to a winning start with Emma Boddy winning the J15 single sculls.

Competing against Latymer School, Boddy, left, made an excellent start and quickly established a two-length lead.

She was never going to be caught from there and powered home to take gold.

The boys J14 quad of Abbi Collingwood, Vinay Narang, Jordan Fowler, Joe Warren and Graham Lyons followed up with win number two.

They cruised their semi-final, before another powerful start in the final gave them a lead over Shiplake College that they never surrendered.

A third victory came in the J14 girls, as Abbi Collingwood, Elli Osborn, Bethany Osborn, Philine Hamelink and Sophia King sealed a fantastic day for the school club by triumphing over Sir William Borlaise’s and Eton Excellcior in a fiercely competitive race.

Nothing separated the three boats in the early stages, but a push from Great Marlow edged them out into the lead.

Sir William Borlaise’s battled back though to set up a race to the line, which Great Marlow won by three lengths.

The school were second in three other events, the J15 girls quads, the J14 double sculls, and the J14 boys double of Joe Warren and Sam Haynes.
