SIR William Borlase’s Grammar School are national champions after underlining their pedigree with three golds and first place overall at the National Schools and National Sculls races last week.
At the National Sculls, the WJ18 quad of Hannah Shimmin, Francesca Scambler, Gabbie Watson and Jess Lewis picked up two golds with emphatic victories before the WJ15 eight added another gold the following day.
The school also picked up three other medals over the two days, with the J16 and J15 eights winning silvers and the WJ16 taking bronze.
