Watford say they have not received a bid from Charlton for captain Jay DeMerit.
Sky Sports News were reporting the Addicks had made a £300,000 bid for the American but the Hornets say they have not received a bid.
DeMerit has found himself on the bench in the Golden Boys’ last two games since Mike Williamson’s arrival from Wycombe Wanderers.
One player who has left Vicarage Road, as previously reported, is Liam Bridcutt after his loan agreement ended and he returned to Chelsea.
