Leyton Orient have strengthened their squad with the addition of versatile forward Levi Lumeka on loan from Premier League side Crystal Palace.
The 19-year-old has penned a season-loan deal at Brisbane Road and could make his O’s debut against Chesterfield tomorrow, having travelled with the Orient squad to the Proact Stadium.
Lumeka is a graduate from Palace’s academy and has finished as top scorer for the club’s Under-23s for the last three seasons.
That form saw him rewarded with his first team debut against Burnley in the Premier League in September 2017, a match which proved to be Frank De Boer’s last in an ill fated spell in charge of the Eagles.
Lumeka, who can play up front or out wide, also featured for the South London side as a substitute against Bristol City in the Carabao Cup last season and scored 13 times for Palace’s Under-23s as well.
The 19-year’s versatility will undoubtedly be useful to Orient head coach Justin Edinburgh, as he manages Jobi McAnuff’s playing time this campaign and with James Brophy set for a period on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury.
