Norwich have joined the race to sign Ben Marshall.

The Wolves winger, 27, spent the second half of last season on loan at Millwall.

He scored three goals and registered five assists as the Lions finished eighth in the Championship.

Millwall want to bring Marshall back to the Den on a permanent deal but would have to smash their transfer record fee of £800k. That fee was paid for Paul Goddard in 1989.

It is understood that Marshall will cost the Lions around £1m - and while boss Neil Harris remains in talks to sign him, Norwich could scupper any potential transfer to SE16.

The Canaries have lost wingers Josh Murphy and Marley Watkins to Cardiff and Bristol City, respectively, this summer.

Marshall’s a proven performer in England’s second tier and is seen as a viable replacement for the pair.

Norwich’s interest and financial pull could make it harder for Millwall to land their main transfer target.
