Millwall boss Neil Harris says his side “concede as a team” after Fulham ended their unbeaten run with a 3-0 defeat at the Den.

Ryan Sessegnon opened the scoring after Lions goalkeeper Jordan Archer spilled Aleksandar Mitrovic's long-range shot before Kevin McDonald netted a Goal of the Month contender to double their lead.

On-loan Newcastle United striker Mitrovic was fed through by substitute Tomas Kalas for the third as Millwall suffered their first league defeat since New Year’s Day to Norwich City.

Harris told News Shopper: “We concede as a team. Jordan will probably say he could’ve done better with one or both but he’s an honest lad. We score goals as a team, concede as a team.

“I thought the atmosphere in the stadium for the first-half, I was really proud of the football club because the performance in the first-half merited that atmosphere and it was a great Millwall 45 minutes.

“Then we come out trying to get ahead of steam in the second-half attacking our end and we don’t test the goalkeeper [Mark Bunn] second-half and that’s not good enough for me, from my team.”

Millwall’s position in the league is unchanged, however, seventh-placed Derby County now have two games in hand as the season draws to a close.

It is next week’s visit up in the north east and Aston Villa at home which rounds off the Sky Bet Championship campaign for the Lions as they try to keep their promotion hopes alive.

Harris added: “The lads were brilliant. I just said to them that it’s disappointing, frustrating, of course but I’m so proud of what they’ve done so far and we’ve been beaten by a good side. No problem. That’s the way football goes.

“I always thought we had to get at least five, if not six, points from our last two games to have a chance of getting into the play-offs, so that’s not changed. Nothing’s changed.

“We’ve got to try and get six and that means going to Boro [Middlesbrough], another top, expensive, side next week and try to defy the odds.”
