Charlton boss Karl Robinson praised his players after their 2-1 win over MK Dons today.

Goals from Ahmed Kashi and Josh Magennis moved the Addicks back into the top six.

An injury to Patrick Bauer saw the visitors switch to an unfamiliar back-five shape, which helped them claim a first win in four games.

Robinson said: “I thought we were excellent today. We looked on a different level at times.

“We've made subs that we felt were for the benefit of the team. Other than my mistake against Oxford, they've been for the right reasons.

“We went to five at the back and fans thought it was a defensive move but it wasn't. We felt like we could hit them on the counter attack.

“In the last 15 minutes, we were very good. I’m really pleased. It’s been hard for the fans and all of us but we’re back in the top six.

“We’ve gone to a 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 in the last few games [where we have dropped points]. We’ve tried everything!

“You can’t do that [play five at the back] against a flat back four, this was against a back three and a lone striker. We just worked very hard.

“I want to thank the analysis team. They put in a lot of hard work to try to get us as prepared as we possibly could. This result makes the Bradford draw a great result.”
