Jed Wallace and George Saville were on target as Millwall narrowly beat Middlesbrough 2-1 at The Den.

The visitors pulled a goal back midway through the second-half, but that was as good as it got at The Lions held on.

Here's how News Shopper rated Millwall's players ...

Jordan Archer - 4 – Made a sharp stop to deny Bamford early on, but also made an absolute howler for Middlesbrough’s goal.

Mahlon Romeo - 5 – Sloppy in possession and gave away a few needless free-kicks unnecessarily. Booked for a rash tackle on Martin Braithwaite.

Shaun Hutchinson - 7 – Made a few important blocks. His understanding with Cooper is getting is

Jake Cooper - 7 – Getting better every week. Looks comfortable playing with Hutchinson now and was superb throughout.

James Meredith - 8 – Rarely troubled by Downing. Stayed extremely disciplined and did exactly what was required of him. Seems to relish these games.

Jed Wallace - 8 – What a player he is. With the ball at his feet, he is frightening. Energetic display which was topped off by a fine opening goal. When he was in front of goal, there was only ever one outcome.

Ryan Tunnicliffe - 8 - Best game in a Millwall shirt by a long way. Battled from minute one and made a fine pass for Wallace for the opener. Made a sensational block late on to deny a certain goal.

George Saville - 7 – His goal summed him up. Poor first touch, but his pure determination creating the chance for him and he neatly poked home. What a season he is having!

Aiden O’Brien - 7 – Final pass let him down at times but seems to be playing with confidence after his impressive display at Villa last weekend.

Steve Morison - 6 – Ran the line well and played a fine pass to set Saville up for Millwall’s second. Should have opened his account for the season late on.

Lee Gregory - 7 – So unlucky not to open the scoring early on as Randolph somehow saved his close-range header. Like Morison, worked extremely hard.
