Brighton fans have been told not to cover their faces when they turn up for the FA Cup tie against Crystal Palace.
There was trouble when the arch rivals drew 0-0 last month with Eagles supporters gaining entry without buying tickets. Stewards were also injured on the night.
The two clubs will meet again in the third-round of the FA Cup next month and Brighton are stepping up their security.
A statement from the club read: “Following direction from Brighton & Hove Albion's Safety Advisory Group, The FA has confirmed its support for a series of safety measures ahead of the FA Cup third round tie with Crystal Palace in January.
“A maximum of 2,000 tickets will be made available to Palace supporters for the match.
“No match tickets will be sold to home or away supporters after 12 noon on the day of the game.
“Supporters' faces must not be covered by hats, scarves, hoods or masks (i.e. they must be recognisable) when entering the turnstiles.
“Tickets in the South Stand will not be made available to Albion supporters for this match.”
