Millwall manager Neil Harris could well call upon his veteran striker Steve Morison in future games this season after heaping praise on the forward after last night's game against Hull City.

Morison, who in May scored the wining goal at Wembley which lifted Millwall into The Championship, has been on the bench this season.

But after being brought on for Tom Elliot on 51 minutes, Morison impressed Harris, who said: "He changed the swing of the game with his experience, guile and link-up play, and his organisation was outstanding.”

Harris praised his team for creating a host of chance, lamented missed chances including three from Lee Gregory as well as a missed header from captain Shane Hutchinson and a low drive from Shane Ferguson which was parried by Scotland keeper Allan McGregor.

Ferguson was subbed on 85 Minutes for Canadian striker Kris Twardek.

Harris added: "I thought there was a goal in it – that’s why I put on Kris Twardek at the end because he had scored goals in the under-23s. I knew Hull had conceded a lot of late goals, and I knew there would be another chance for us."

“It’s another game where we’ve created a host of chances at home, but not quite had the end product, and I’m really pleased with so many aspects of the game, but ultimately you want to pick up your points while you’re on top in games."
