Charlton manager Karl Robinson has paid tribute to football agent Gary Lloyd who suddenly died on the weekend.

Lloyd, 47, represented stars across the North West, including Rochdale boss Keith Hill and many of their players.

And Robinson, whose 2-1 victory over the Dale last night extended their unbeaten league run to nine games, offered his condolences to Lloyd’s family in his post-match press conference.

He said: “Before we start I’d like to speak about Rochdale’s manager – his agent Gary Lloyd passed away on the weekend, they made a statement regarding that.

“He looked after some of their players, he’s somebody that I know as well. He was a real good football man and was very good at what he did.

“I hope the family are doing as well as they possibly can do. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family.

“We hope Keith and everyone else is ok. Sometimes in football, we get so carried away with our passion for the game. But life is far more important than that.

“You can see the Rochdale players put a shift in for their manager. You can see the honesty in their group. I wanted to give my condolences from us as a football club to Gary’s family and everybody at Rochdale associated with Gary.”
