Karl Robinson says he will consider rotating his players for their midweek trip to Walsall.

The Addicks boss has only made enforced changes to his team this season through international call-ups, suspensions or injuries.

But following Charlton’s 1-1 draw with Bury, where Josh Magennis cancelled out Jermaine Beckford’s early goal, Robinson could freshen things up against Walsall on Tuesday.

Charlton starlet Ezri Konsa impressed when he came off the bench against the Shakers, while Joe Dodoo is pushing for a start.

Robinson told News Shopper: “I think we’ll have to have a look at that tonight. They’re in for recovery tomorrow, and then we’ll have a conversation as a staff.

“It’s not just me who picks the team - myself, Johnnie Jackson and Lee Bowyer discuss it together.

“I’ve never been a dictator - I have my own views - but I’m certainly open to people coming to me and saying ‘he maybe needs a rest’.

“I hate using the word ‘rest’, I think it’s an easy way out. There will be some ex players who watch this and read this and they won't have a clue what rotation means.

“The problem nowadays, when other teams rotate and you don’t, that means they have a better edge to the game, more of a freshness to it.

“If they’re rotating and you don’t, you’ll have a dip in performance and they’ll have an increase in performance with better fatigue levels.

“So, we’ll change it here and there and we’ll get ourselves ready and raring to go for the games coming up.”
