Crowds at Kempton Park gave rousing support to the Kings Royal Hussars and the Household Cavalry on Best of British Night last Wednesday, a night celebrating the tradition and culture of the United Kingdom.

Along with military displays, music, a sing-a-long and fireworks Kempton Park launched a morale boosting appeal for race-goers to bring gifts to send out to the troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Numerous gifts, with heart-felt messages of support, were given to the troops and in excess of £650 was donated, which will be spent on equipment for injured soldiers and sports equipment for the troops based abroad.

CoH Brown LP from the Household Cavalry said: "We were astonished and delighted with the kind support shown by the general public.

"The troops overseas will be elated and moved to know that they are in the public's thoughts".

Sky Sports Soccer AM presenter Helen Chamberlain was at Kempton Park to show her support for the troops serving overseas, much to the delight of the Household Cavalry.
