Karl Robinson wants to sign a goalkeeper and a winger as soon as possible.

Dillon Phillips is the club’s only senior goalkeeper, while Mark Marshall’s knee injury has created new problems for the Addicks boss.

Speaking after his team’s 2-0 defeat to Norwich, Robinson said: “I always thought before we needed someone in that position [a winger] to make us a bit brighter in certain games.

“So we’re still searching for that, we’re still trying to find someone who allows us to be better. Marshy is a big loss for us. But it is what it is. I’m disappointed for him, the team and the fans.

“But he’ll be like a new signing by October when he comes back.”

Former Charlton loanee Cameron Stewart has been on trial with the club this summer.

And Robinson will have talks with his staff about offering the winger a deal.

He added: “We’ll have a discussion as a staff about that this evening.

“I’m happy with my squad. We’re better than we were this time last year. So, I think that’s an improvement in itself.

“It’s not down for me to be accepting what we've got, that would be poor of me.

“My demand is that we have to keep getting better. So yeah, we’re happy where we are but I can always be happier. My job is to sign those players to make us happier.”
