Sky Bet Championship clubs Millwall and Reading are struggling to agree to a fee for defender Jake Cooper, according to News at Den.

Cooper, 22, was on loan to the Lions last season from the Madejski Stadium and scored twice in eight appearances during their promotion-clinching League One campaign.

Although Reading are said to be open to letting the England under-20 international go, other clubs are rumoured to be interested as well.

Manager Neil Harris is determined to recruit defensive reinforcements this summer, given that full-back Shaun Cummings will depart from the club when his contract expires.

He said: “Jake is a Reading player. We have made enquiries about his availability and about the fee.”
