Charlton Athletic are set to kick-off their 2017/18 League One season at The Valley against Bristol Rovers on August 5, following the league’s fixtures release.
When the two sides met last season, Charlton were comfortable winners in both meetings and won 4-1 and 5-1 respectively as Rovers finished 10th, six points ahead of the Addicks in 13th.

Amid off-field issues, Charlton have reinforced the squad with new signings and retaining the services of others, including Billy Clarke and Mark Marshall from Bradford City and Tarique Fosu from Reading.
Karl Robinson’s men will be away to Plymouth Argyle following the meeting before taking on Northampton Town and Rotherham United to round off August.
