Shaun Williams wants to sign a new deal at Millwall.

Williams, who played 56 times in the Lions’ promotion-winning season, is out of contract this summer.

But Millwall boss Neil Harris is desperate to keep him, and the midfielder is keen to stay.

Williams said: “The Bradford game was my 56th of the season so I’ve really enjoyed it. I’ve loved every minute of it.

“I’m willing and happy to sign a contract. We’re just working out the details.

“I’ve had seasons when we stayed up in the Championship, then got relegated, got to the final last year and this year we’ve gone up so it’s been an eventful time at Millwall. I love it.”

Williams, 30, joined Millwall from MK Dons in January 2014, and he has been an integral part to Harris’ squad over the past two seasons.

The former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international praised the Lions’ team spirit after their play-off final win over Bradford.

He added: “The team spirit is phenomenal. Everyone gets on and everybody is friends. But everybody can batter each other at the same time. It just works well.

“I have to give a mention to the manager because in his first two full seasons in football, he’s had two play-off finals and now a promotion.

“There are no bad eggs in our squad. We dig-in and pull up our sleeves for everyone. It shows.”
