Andros Townsend has been ruled out of Crystal Palace’s trip to Old Trafford with an achilles injury.
The former Newcastle winger was struggling to prove his fitness before the Eagles’ win over Hull last weekend – and came off in the 75th minute.
Tomkins, who returned to action against the Tigers after recovering from an ankle injury, will play a part in Palace’s last game of the season.

And Yohan Cabaye faces a late fitness test with a foot problem, while skipper Scott Dann is unlikely to recover in time from a knee injury.
Palace boss Sam Allardyce said: “We’ll play the last game with the fittest team we’ve got. There is no Andros and Yohan’s feeling his foot. But Tomkins looks ok.
“For me, we have to give our best performance at Old Trafford because our players want to play on the big stage.”
