A Leyton Orient fan has taken it upon herself to launch a fundraising page for unpaid backroom staff at the east London club.

Sophie Hassell launched the page this morning in a show of support for the hard working people who remain at Brisbane Road despite not being paid.

Yesterday, concerned staff raised their concerns over the lack of communication from owner Francesco Becchetti and the directors.

It has been 20 days since the staff were due to receive their March wages with their last payment coming in February.

The page description said: "This is a separate fundraising campaign from the regeneration fund to support the non-playing staff of Leyton Orient FC who are currently without payment of wages.

"It should be stressed that this fund is not in replacement of staff wages and I hope this issue is resolved soon.

"The fund is a way to show gratitude and respect to hardworking, loyal and dedicated staff at a time of need.

"Please share far and wide to show the good in the football community. This is an immediate hardship fund and collection will end Saturday, April 29."

So far it has raised £330 of its £5000 target. To donate visit https://www.gofundme.com/support-for-staff-of-leyton-orient.
