Leyton Orient fell to their fifth defeat and 16th home loss, in League Two after losing 2-0 to Wycombe Wanderers in Omer Riza’s first game in charge.

Matt Bloomfield and Myles Weston penned their names on the scoresheet to give their play-off hopes a timely boost.

Chants of ‘Francesco Becchetti out’ and ‘stand up for the Orient’ was heard around the ground for the final 10 minutes of the match. This was due to the turmoil reign the Italian has overseen.

Orient remain bottom of the League Two table on 32 points and are looking more and more likely to be playing conference football next season.

The O’s gained the first chance of the game when Josh Koroma and Rowan Liburd linked up well. The former broke into the area before he was denied by the feet of Jamal Blackman.

A minute later, Teddy Mezague’s header was cleared off the line by Myles Weston and the impending corner was smashed over the bar by Liam Kelly.

Wycombe were given a free-kick in a dangerous area but Sam Saunders’ free-kick was headed over by Will De Havilland.

Orient had a chance once again to break the deadlock when Liburd fed the ball through to Koroma on the edge of the area but his effort was deflected wide for a corner, which came to nothing.

In the 18th minute, Adebayo Akinfenwa chested down Garry Thompson’s long throw and hit the ball towards the goal but Teddy Mezague managed to block.

Then quickly down the other end, Sandro Semedo struck a shot towards the bottom corner from 30-yards out but Blackman got down well to tip the ball away.

Once again Koroma displayed some good play down the left as he got the better of Michael Harriman before his cross was claimed by Blackman.

Referee Charles Breakspear made a bad decision just before the half an hour mark when he sent off Tom Parkes for a high foot but his eyes were focused on the ball.

The deadlock was finally broken when Bloomfield calmly slotted the ball home in the 36th minute for The Chairboys after Akinfenwa flicked it on.

Wycombe soon doubled their lead through Weston, although it appeared he had pushed Jens Janse into Sargeant, before lofting the ball into the empty net.

Before the second half even began, first team manager Omer Riza was sent off to the stands by the referee for verbally abusing him during half-time.

The second half was a slightly quieter affair with Harriman gaining the first chance of the half. He fired a shot into side netting.

In the 50th minute, a minute's applause was held for Orient superfan Frankie Bish who sadly passed away earlier in the week.

Wycombe took advantage of having the extra man and Thompson got onto the end of a long ball only to be thwarted by a sliding tackle from Mezague.

In the 63rd minute, Orient gained their first half of the final 45 when Liam Kelly picked out Liburd to his right but he saw his attempt held by Blackman.

Sargeant made the save of the half when he produced a fantastic one-handed save to push Saunders’ shot over the bar.

Aaron Pierre looked in amazement as his shot bounced off the bar and over in the 66th minute when he was aiming for the top corner.

O’s substitute Tristian Abrahams made a good impact when he managed to weave his way into the box but the powerful shot was parried away by Blackman.

Just before full-time, a loud rendition of ‘stand up for the Orient’ along with ‘Becchetti out’ was heard loud and clear around Brisbane Road by the O’s faithful, with the away end also joining in.
