Leyton Orient's prospective buyers are still very interested in the club despite what league they are in next season, the East London Guardian Series understands.

According to a report by Talksport, owner Francesco Becchetti is unwilling to sell until he knows whether the O's will be in League Two or the National League.

The unnamed American company interested in purchasing the club have now made five approaches, but are still yet to receive a response.

The most recent of those communications was made on Wednesday night.

Becchetti put the club up for sale in January, and it is believed he wants to recoup the £4million he paid to Barry Hearn in 2014.

The east London club were handed a winding-up petition last week from HMRC over an unpaid tax bill believed to be between £125,000 and £250,000.

And after making their own investigations, the Leyton Orient Fan Trust (LOFT) believes the club also have signifigant debt elsewhere.
