Leyton Orient confirmed they have been dealt with another massive injury blow as captain Robbie Weir has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
Weir, who signed a two-year deal summer to join Orient, came on as a substitute in the 4-0 loss against Exeter City but only lasted 14 minutes before being stretchered off.
Scans revealed the 28-year-old had suffered the cruciate ligament injury to his left knee.
O's boss Andy Edwards said to leytonorient.com: "It is a massive blow to see Robbie's season come to end in such fashion.
"He is a great captain to this club and he will be a big loss for us. We still also have Liam Kelly on the sidelines and it leaves us short of options in the centre of midfield.
"He will get the club's 100 percent support in his recovery and I know he will come back stronger."
The former Burton Albion player has made 21 appearances for the O's and has recently been left out of Edwards' starting XI.
