Leyton Orient boss Alberto Cavasin insists his side are not nervous when playing at Brisbane Road.

The O’s fell to their eighth home defeat of the season as they lost 2-1 to Blackpool who had not won an away game in League Two since September.

Goals from Jamille Matt and Tom Aldred were enough to seal the victory as the Tangerines held on after Paul McCallum reduced the deficit late on.

The Italian added: “Today we produced a different performance compared to the other loses, we were more competitive.

“Even after we conceded the first goal the team did not look down. We had some moments where we were not as intense.

“But this time we did not give up. At the moments where we are losing it is very important to look at the positives that have been done.

“I do not think the players look nervous. Their presence on the pitch is positive. The team tries to stay as a group even when they concede.”

Once again a set piece was their undoing as Blackpool doubled their advantage early on in the second half.

Although Gavin Massey was appealing hand ball the goal stood and it marked Orient’s ninth goal conceded directly or indirectly from a free-kick in the last eight weeks.

“Last week we did not concede a goal from set pieces. It Is the same as the other 15 teams in the League that are there with four or five points away from one another,” said the former Sampdoria boss.

The positive for the O’s is they have another game on Tuesday night against bottom of the table Exeter City at the Matchroom Stadium.

The 60-year-old said: “This game is important. In this moment there are two good things the first thing is that the game is on Tuesday.

“This is even what the lads said amongst themselves. The other is that we end the match in a positive way.

“It is fundamental we get the win. When I hear the players chat in this way it is great to see so let’s see what happens on Tuesday.”

The game kicks off at 7.45pm against The Grecians.
