Leyton Orient made a return to Brisbane Road after two away trips and have now gone three home games where they have failed to gain any points as they lost 1-0 to Yeovil Town.

Tom Eaves scored the only goal of the game to give the West Country side their first Jay Simpson and Nigel Atangana made a return to the side after some time on the sidelines due to injury but both could not help secure the points at E10.

O’s boss Andy Hessenthaler may have to make a few changes next week for their trip to Notts County as the O’s lacked creativity.

Gavin Massey had the first chance of the game in the 4th minute with a volley after Callum Kennedy’s free-kick is headed away but it is saved by Yeovil’s Artur Krysiak.

Tom Parkes then sent a long ball forward which was knocked down by Jordan Bowery and Paul McCallum did his best to get on the end of it but Krysiak read the situation well to save.

Natham Smith in the 15th minute had a chance for the visitors as he kept a cross alive in the O’s penalty area but Alex Cisak was alert at the near post to keep the effort out.

Liam Kelly went close three minutes later as his shot fired just over the bar following good work involving captain Robbie Weir, Bowery and Harry Cornick.

It soon came chance after chance for the O’s as Kennedy produced a fine ball forward into the Yeovil box and was initially missed by Bowery but McCallum was there and slide in and passed to Cornick who flew his shot over the bar.

But The Glovers did not give in and Otis Khan’s free-kick was headed over by Eaves and he beat Cisak to the ball in what was a major let off for the O’s.

Yeovil’s Matt Butcher received the first yellow card of the game after an extremely late tackle on Weir but shortly after Ryan Hedges had a chance just inside the area but it takes a deflection before Cisak got down low to make the save.

Another nervy moment came in quick succession as Parkes cannot get a good connection with his head but luckily Khan and Eaves got in each other’s way and Cisak was able to gather.

Nathan Smith was the second Yeovil player to be booked following a bad tackle on Cornick as he looked to embark on a run.

Weir was then taken down right on the edge of the area with five minutes to play in the first half and Kennedy tried his luck with the free-kick but it hit the six-man wall.

Orient defender Nicky Hunt could not make a return for the second half due to an injury sustained in the first half and he was replaced by young defender Aron Pollock.

It was a slow start in the second half for the O’s as they quickly gave away a needless corner as Parkes tried to let it roll out of play but Eaves hit it back off him before the corner came to nothing.

McCallum continued to show his long throw dominance which was causing all sorts of problems for the Yeovil defence as Massey set up Kennedy but his effort went wide of the post.

Simpson made a return to the side after spending a month out with a back injury and he received a huge cheer from the o’s faithful in the 63rd minute.

But Hedges had the best chance of the second half in the 64th minute as he cut in from the right and fired a shot high and wide.

Chances were almost non-existent for both sides but Smith got the better of Pollock on the wing and delivered a cross into the box which Eaves headed straight into the hands of Cisak.

It what was an absolute calamity by the Orient defence The Glovers took the lead after the O’s failed to clear a quick corner and Eaves headed in at the back post.

Massey had a great chance to level the scoring as McCallum’s long throw was cleared out to him and his volley was spilled by Krysiak but nobody could get to the rebound.

There was three chances for the O’s in the dying minutes of the game as Simpsons shot was cleared off the line before McCallum and Kelly tried to hit in the rebound but it was to no avail.

Simpson came close again in just before the final whistle but it was saved and the fans vent at the owner Francesco Becchetti.
