Alan Pardew says you cannot underestimate the implications a FA Cup win could have on Crystal Palace.

A win over Manchester United at Wembley would provide the Eagles with their first major trophy and ensure a place in next season’s Europa League.

Pardew said: “The jump we had in attendances form that final (1990) won’t be repeated because we’re almost full house now – most of our games are.

“But the general world-wide interest in this football club – if we won this trophy – I don’t think you can underestimate that.

“You couldn’t put a price on it in this media world.”

While the effects of Cup win would be huge, Pardew has urged his side to simply focus on their performance.

And the manager believes only a “perfect” performance will give Palace a chance against the Red Devils.

He added: “The job is in front of us. We mustn’t look at the result, we just need to focus on the performance at this stage.

“We will worry about all of that after but it would be a real positive for us.”

“I remember beating Sir Alex Ferguson at Newcastle, we beat United 3-0 and we put in almost the perfect performance.

“I feel to win this game we are going to have to put in a perfect performance.

“Manchester United keep the ball really well and we are going to have to be patient at times. We are going to be the side that needs to fight that bit harder to win.”
