Millwall defender Byron Webster suffered a hamstring problem in the 1-1 draw with Bradford, Neil Harris revealed.

The 29-year-old was replaced by Tony Craig in injury-time and hobbled off feeling his hamstring.

Harris said he hopes it is just cramp with the League One play-off final against Barnsley just eight days away.

“His hamstring was tight at the end of the game, whether it was cramp we will have to wait or see. Hopefully it is,” Harris said.

“He was still challenging in the air but he couldn’t make the sprints.

“Do you leave him out there or give the opportunity to the club captain who leads by example? When you can turn to him that’s a great benefit.”

Webster put in another superb performance for the Lions and Harris insisted he is turning into one of the leaders in the Millwall dressing room.

The manager added: “Byron has been excellent [this season] and has turned into a good leader in the dressing room. He’s a great character.

“We had to deal with a lot of balls in the air and over the course of the games our defenders came out on top.”
