Barnet head coach Martin Allen is unsure as to whether Bira Dembele will be fit enough for Saturday's visit from Accrington Stanley.

The centre-back had missed the Bees' last two games against Dagenham & Redbridge and Plymouth Argyle due to a groin problem and had been granted permission to return home to France to see his family.

However, the former Stevenage defender travelled to Kingsmeadow on Saturday but was not included in Allen's matchday 18 for the 2-0 defeat against AFC Wimbledon.

Speaking on Saturday, Allen said: "If he (Bira Dembele) was fit he would have played today but he’s not fit. I don’t know if he will be fit for next week."

There was better news regarding former Leyton Orient pair Shaun Batt and Kevin Lisbie, though, both of whom could be in contention for Saturday's game.

Batt has not appeared since the 1-0 defeat at Yeovil Town in the Football League Trophy on September 1, while Lisbie is yet to make his competitive debut thanks to a hamstring problem.

Said Allen: "Batt started training with Lisbie on Friday morning – that was their first day.

"So they will have to train all next week before they can be considered. They need a good two weeks of training, those two.

"Graham Stack needs more work – he is not ready yet," added the Bees boss.
