Midfielder Konstantin Kerschbaumer reckons the exits of Jonathan Douglas and Stuart Dallas this week will not disrupt the players ahead of the Championship kick-off.

Douglas, 33, confirmed a 12-month free transfer to Saturday’s visitors Ipswich Town on Monday after being told by head coach Marinus Dijkhuizen he had no future at Griffin Park.

Northern Ireland international Dallas, 24, also agreed a move away from west London as he sealed a switch to Leeds United on the same day, signing a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee to team up with former boss Uwe Rosler.

Full back Moses Odubajo, absent from the Bees’ Jersey Road training ground on Tuesday, is also thought to have had a medical at Hull City after the Tigers triggered the 22-year-old’s reported £3.5million release clause.

Kerschbaumer spent only a few weeks with the trio, but he believes their departures will not distract the squad from getting their Championship campaign up and running against the Tractor Boys.

“This is the football business. It is normal,” he said.

“I had this in Austria as well. Some players wanted to leave the club and moved to another club. This is normal.

“We have to concentrate for the next game and I think we are all looking forward to the game and we have to focus for the first game of the Championship.”

Kerschbaumer switched from Bundesliga strugglers Admira Wacker Mödling in June and has impressed during pre-season as a direct replacement for Douglas.

And the 23-year-old former Austrian U19 international cannot wait to get his teeth into life in England.

“I’m really excited and looking forward to Saturday. We have to enjoy this game. We have a full stadium at Griffin Park,” he added.

“I’m looking forward for this and the atmosphere here and it is our first game to fight for three points.

“This is the reason we are professional footballers. We want to fight every game for three points and want to be top of the league.”
