West Ham United are understood to be facing stiff competition from West Bromwich Albion in a bid to bring Demba Ba back to Upton Park.
The forward, who left Chelsea for Besiktas last summer, has put his future with the Turkish club in doubt after a disagreement about a new contract, according to the Times.
The 30-year-old got on well with new Hammers boss Slaven Bilic last season at Besiktas in a successful season for the Senegal international.
Despite West Brom manager Tony Pulis’ interest, Ba may favour a move back to the Boleyn Ground where he had a spell back in 2011.
He scored seven goals in 11 appearances then but could not save United from relegation to the Championship, and subsequently joined Newcastle United.
Last season, Ba played 44 times under Bilic for Turkish side Besiktas, scoring 27 goals in the process, as they secured a third-place finish and Europa League qualification.
